The Division of inorganic chemistry of the Swedish Chemical Society welcomes you to Oorgandagarna (Inorganic Days). The conference will be held at Umeå University, starting at lunchtime on Wednesday 12 June and closing at lunchtime on Friday 14 June.
Swedish chemists have a long-standing tradition of excellence in the area of Inorganic Chemistry. Their contribution to the field has especially diversified over the past ~25 years, to a point where new sub-disciplines regularly emerge as chemists continue to push boundaries of the field. Inorganic Days is Sweden’s key conference in Inorganic Chemistry since 2011.
This year, we are proud to launch the conference with Keynote lectures celebrating the United Nations’ 2019 International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements.
I. Celebrating the 2019 International Year of the Periodic Table
II. Bio-Inorganic Chemistry
III. Materials Chemistry & Catalysis
IV. Keynote Lecture on Molecular Inorganic Chemistry
V. Batteries, electrochemistry & renewable energy
VI. Environmental Chemistry & Geochemistry
VII. Sustainability & Industrial Chemistry
VIII. X-ray & neutron research in Inorganic Chemistry
IX. Coordination Chemistry
X. Nanomaterials, Thin Films, Surfaces & Interfaces
XI. Keynotes: Inorganic processes in nature, & visions from the U.S. Department of Energy
The themes cover molecular and solid-state inorganic chemistry, including bridging fields such as geosciences, life sciences, material sciences and energy. Its guests and themes are chosen to lift the importance of some of Sweden’s national research infrastructure, including the MAX IV and ESS laboratories, the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC), Sweden’s Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Center (NMR for life), as well as its excellent electron microscopy and structure determination laboratories.
The scientific program includes lectures given by recognised experts, as well as by Ph.D. students. All participants are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations.
As an integral part of the program, we also invite companies to present the latest news on instrumentation and techniques of interest to the inorganic chemistry community.
The conference is scheduled to provide many opportunities for its participate to network with colleagues and friends at poster sessions, in the exhibition area, as well as at the conference dinner.
Welcome to Umeå in June 2019!
